Variation on Adrienne Rich

"Poems are like dreams: in them you put what you don't know you knew."
                                                                            --Adrienne Rich

Poems are what you put dreams in like you knew them: you don't know you.

  1. This really is an amazing line you compiled here. Dreams are not something that we know, and dreams also are something that are restricted by limits we put on ourselves. Therefore, we do not know ourselves sometimes. At the same time, it is pointed out that we put our dreams and thoughts in writing as a way to maybe live those dreams.

  2. I like the reconstucted line. Try to use it now, in a poem of its own (a series of variations like the Cage poem, or as an epigraph, a starting point for something original.
