This really is an amazing line you compiled here. Dreams are not something that we know, and dreams also are something that are restricted by limits we put on ourselves. Therefore, we do not know ourselves sometimes. At the same time, it is pointed out that we put our dreams and thoughts in writing as a way to maybe live those dreams.
I like the reconstucted line. Try to use it now, in a poem of its own (a series of variations like the Cage poem, or as an epigraph, a starting point for something original.
